Salmon Canapé - As Seen On Studio 10

I love this canapé, it’s very impressive yet super easy to make. Its a great way to start any celebration, and boy have I started many a celebration with this canapé! This cured salmon canapé is perfect as there is no cooking involved, none what so ever! I like to top pumpernickel bread with the cured salmon especially for Christmas, but you can top cucumber crackers which are great if you or someone you love doesn’t eat carbs here I have done a combination of both so everyone is happy! If you’re unable to cure salmon you can replace it with smoked salmon for an even quicker canapé for when people drop by unexpectedly!


  • 1 Batch of my Cured Salmon or 1 Packet of smoked salmon
  • 2 Lebanese cucumbers
  • 1/3 Cup of Creme Frachie
  • 1 Tbs of dill, leaves only
  • 4 slices of pumpernickel, cut into 4


1) Start by peeling your cucumber, making sure that you leave strips of skin to create a really pretty pattern. Slice the cucumbers 1-2cm thick slices and arrange the cucumber crackers on a platter along with the pumpernickel.
2) Top your cucumber and pumpernickel with the Creme Fraiche and Salmon, then garnish with a sprig of dill and serve.
