Personally for me Aioli is more than just a fancy name for garlic mayonnaise; it’s that special element that takes almost all deep fried food to that next level! It’s not just a dipping sauce that you get at trendy pubs and cafe’s but that little extra naughtiness that we all crave every now and again (or in my case all the time). You can spend a fortune on buying Aioli in a fancy jar at your local gourmet store, or you can do what I do and make it yourself! It’s a lot easier than you think. Once you master making this basic Aioli you can then start to flavour it with a whole variety of herbs and spices, everything from chilli to dill and everything in-between. As it says in the title it’s effortless, so why not try making my Effortless Aioli?
1) Place eggs, lemon juice, mustard and garlic in a blender and combine on a low speed.
2) Switch your blender to a medium speed and while the motor is running, slowly add some oil a few drops at a time until you have added about a tablespoon worth of oil. You can now start to drizzle in your oil (you want a thin steady stream of oil) until you reach your desired consistency.
3) Season with salt and pepper and set aside until you need it (You can store your Aioli in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 3 days).
