Aperol Spritz

Cocktails are one of those things that can often divide a crowd. Some like them fruity while others like them sour and then there is that odd group that like them creamy! So when I was at a work function the other day I thought it was very brave of the host to only offer one type of cocktail. That was until I tried it and realised that she was in fact a genius! See this cocktail is a true crowd please, as it has both fruity and sour notes which will have all your guests more than happy to sip on this all day! An Aperol Spritz is what bartenders call a built cocktail meaning all the ingredients are poured either into an individual glass or large jug. This is perfect if you don’t have a cocktail shaker or just after a fuss free cocktail that doesn’t involve the use of multiple kitchen appliances creating more washing! To make this cocktail you take a 3 2 1 approach and with the weather getting increasingly hotter it’s a great Summer Cocktail. Give this humble yet tasty Aperol Spritz a go at your next BBQ or dinner party!

Ingredients:

  • Prosseco
  • Aperol
  • Soda Water
  • Orange, cut into slices
  • Ice, optional

Method:

1) Pour 3 parts Prosseco into a wine glass or large serving jug.
2) Top with 2 parts Aperol and 1 part Soda Water. You can add a few ice cubes at this point if you wish.
3) Serve with a slice of orange and enjoy!

Remember the secret to the perfect cocktail is to pour with love (and a little va va voom) xx
