Christmas is less than a month away! Yes you read that right, its less that a month away! I couldn’t tell you where my year has gone, it feels like only yesterday I was taking down my Christmas tree wishing that it could be Christmas all year round. You see I love Christmas, it’s the one time of the year where we all take a step back and reflect on the year that was, when we share all our memories with loved ones, and really take time out of our busy lives to tell the people we love just how much we love them. It’s when we eat far too much and fall into a food coma in the backyard only to be woken up someone calling out “Desserts ready!”. Now that Christmas is less than a month away I find myself organising all the homemade gifts that I like to give to family and friends. Personally I think that nothing beats a homemade gift, why? Because it means that the gift giver has put time and effort into your gift. Homemade gifts are always made with love, it takes a lot more effort to make something than it does to head over the shops and buying something that the other person probably won’t ever use. I find that whenever I make a gift for loved ones I always get a phone call or text message telling me that they ate the biscuits or made the hot chocolate or tried the cheese and are thankful that I put in the effort of making them something. This never happens with a store bought gift.

With all this said, and there being less than a month to go before the big day I’ve been busy going through old photos to get inspiration for this years gifts. That’s when I found this little beauty, its from 2 years ago and I made Hot Chocolate packs for loved ones. Now I know what your thinking, you can get Hot Chocolate in a box! I can guarantee you that pre made Hot Chocolate isn’t half as good as this mix! There was rich cocoa, brown sugar, chocolate shavings, baby marshmallows topped with a whole nutmeg with a mini grater for people to garnish their Hot Chocolates with. They were then decorated to look like snowmen which I think made them extra special. I was still getting calls from my mother 6 months later (in winter) telling me how much she loved her present!

So if you find yourself stuck for Christmas gifts or want to do something different this year I highly recommend making a homemade gift for family and friends. I know what I’ll be making everyone this year!
